The dumplings are delicious and I want to visit Krakow!

The 2023/2024 season is not only the first for Chloe Bibby in Poland, but in all of Europe. Earlier in her basketball career, the PolskaStrefaInwestycji Enea AJP Gorzów player played in the USA, where she represented Mississippi and Maryland in the NCAA and the Australian league in the Perth Lynx. How does she like Poland?

From the very beginning of the season, the Australian has been performing at a great level. She is currently the best player in the Polish Orlen Basket League for Women, where she averages 23 points, 8 rebounds, 3.5 assists, which gives an EVAL of 28.5. In EuroCup Women Chloe Bibby averages 23.5 points and 8 rebounds. The Australian basketball player was named MVP of the 3rd round of OBLK for her performance in the game against the Poznan team, when she scored 27 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in less than 36 minutes. We asked our basketball player about her impressions of the Polish league and her stay in Gorzow so far!

How do you like playing in the Polish league?

It's great. The competition is really high, there are some very good basketball players playing here. In the team everyone is very nice, we get along very well, well, and we won all our games in the Polish league, so it's perfect. We are the table leader, so everything is going very well for us in the Polish league.

What places in Gorzow did you have a chance to visit and which did you like the most?

The café, the one in the city center! It's lovely inside and they have great cakes and sweets there. I also visited the church in the center of the city (the Cathedral), but however, the cafe captivated me. I love it. We also visited the golf course and it was great, it's beautiful there.

What would you recommend tourists to visit in Gorzow?

Definitely this cafe and the golf course. For a walk I would recommend the Gorzow grasslands, it was beautiful there. Well, and we were there as a whole team, which was very nice. We had a chance to talk quietly and admire the panorama of the city.

What places outside our city have you had the opportunity to visit in Poland?

Only those where we played matches, so it was Torun. We only had one away match, and the calendar is tight, so I didn't really have time to travel. I hope to explore Poland a bit more during the next break in February.

Are there places in Poland that you've heard of and would like to visit?

I'll have to ask my bandmates and the Australian girls who played with you for details. I've heard that Krakow is a beautiful and historic city. I would still like to visit that old garden next to Krakow. My teammates told me that it is beautiful there, and there is also a beach nearby. These two places I absolutely must see.

Which Polish dishes have you had a chance to try? Do you have your favorite?

I ate "pierogi" (dumplings) They were not bad, they are actually quite good. I don't know what you call it, but I also really like a Polish dish made of cabbage in the form of a salad (bigos) I ate it and it was great. I know it's a rather strange example, but it really tasted good to me. But like I said, number one is pierogi, I think they are good.

How did the cake you baked recently turn out?

I have them with me! I made them and we'll see if the girls are satisfied. It tastes good to me, but I don't know if they will like it. I hope it came out in a delicious way.

What about the Polish language? Do you already know any phrases or expressions?

Not much yet. I know how to say "thank you" and what "please" means. I still know how to say "good," but that's probably all I know for now. A few months in Poland are still to come, so I'll be learning from the girls!
